Abstract

Extract

Serological methods for the diagnosis of Brucella ovis infection in sheep have included agglutination (Buddle, Citation1954) and complement fixation (Clapp, Citation1955). The agglutination test did not prove to be sufficiently reliable for diagnostic purposes (Buddle, Citation1956), and the complement fixation test suffered from anti-complementary activity of the antigen and false positive reactions in some sera (Gorrie, Citation1959).
