Hypoglycaemia in late pregnancy occurs commonly in the: ewe in which it is regarded as the primary disturbance in blood chemistry in the pathogenesis of pregnancy toxaemia (McClymont and Setchell, Citation1956). In the cow it is an extremely common post-partum condition, being implicated in the development of acetonaemia (Sampson, Citation1956). In the bitch, pre- or post-partum hypoglycaemia is not describe in any of the standard textbooks. The purpose of this paper is to report three such cases.
