Abstract

Extract

Despite early reports by Scandinavian workers referred to by Blood (pers. comm.) and Steere (Citation1961), it was not until 1950 that surgical correction of clinical conditions of the bovine abomasum was reported in English (Begg, Citation1950; Ford, Citation1950). Following this there have been a number of clinical reports and several reviews (Steere, Citation1959; Neal and Pinsent, Citation1960; Pinsent, et al., Citation1961).
