Ash from arsenic-treated (Tanalised) timber a danger to stock

Pages 65-67 | Received 10 Feb 1965, Published online: 23 Feb 2011

Abstract

Extract

Reports reaching this Centre had suggested that animals had been poisoned by ingesting the ash from arsenic-treated (Tanalised) timber. The danger of arsenic-treated timber has been investigated by Wanntorp Citation(1953), Haikonen Citation(1954), and Harrison and Mason Citation(1959), but no reports on the possibility of stock being poisoned by the ash of treated timber have been found.
