Arsenic poisoning of man and animals has been a problem since earliest times. That it is still a problem in livestock husbandry in New Zealand was shown by Staples Citation(1964), who reported on 345 cases of poisoning diagnosed at Wallaceville Animal Research Centre over the period 1951 to 1960.
