It is clear that both mast cells and eosinophiles are of considerable importance in the acute inflammatory reaction. However, satisfactory methods for staining these cells in the sheep skin have not been described. This communication describes briefly the various techniques for staining mast cells and eosinophiles in the sheep skin, attempted while carrying out studies on the nature of the acute inflammatory response in the sheep by using skin as a test-system (CitationVegad, 1967).
