Pityriasis rosea in pigs

Abstract

Extract

Sir,—Your correspondent, G. B. Davis, in his letter in the April 1969 issue, was correct in saying that this condition had not previously been recorded in New Zealand, but I would like to point out that we were well aware of its existence before 1960. The records of the Diagnostic Unit of the then Ruakura Animal Research Station will substantiate this. We had a rather severe outbreak in the Ruakura piggery and there are some excellent illustrations of affected pigs in the photographic file.
