Pityriasis rosea in pigs

&

Abstract

Extract

Sir,—We welcome the opportunity you have given us to support the views of our colleague, Dr D. C. Dodd, concerning pityriasis rosea in pigs. In 1960 we investigated this problem which occurred in several pigs' in a herd. Photographs (Figs. 1 and 2) illustrate the lesions in two of the pigs with extensive lesions. The condition appeared suddenly, many in-contact pigs did not show lesions, and the lesions on the others disappeared after a few weeks. The condition has not been seen in this herd since then.
