Sir,—The isolation of ovine strains of Parainfluenza type 3 (PI3) virus was first recorded by Hore (Citation1966) in the United Kingdom, and subsequently by Ditchfield (Citation1966) in Canada, and St. George (Citation1969) in Australia. Fastier and Hansen (Citation1966) demonstrated antibodies to PI3 virus in the sera of cattle in New Zealand.
