The study of helminth infections of breeding ewes has been concentrated particularly on the post-parturient rise in faecal egg counts (Connan, Citation1968). New Zealand studies on this phenomenon including economic returns from anthelmintic treatment of ewes prior to lambing and after lambing have been conducted by Brunsdon (Citation1964, Citation1966a, Citationb, Citationc, Citation1967, Citation1970), Lewis and Stauber (Citation1969) and Leaning et al. (Citation1970).
