There is an extensive literature on bovine neoplasms but relatively few have been reported as occurring in New Zealand. It is proposed to review only the New Zealand literature in this report. Fibropapillomatous lesions were stated to occur in the bladders of cows exhibiting chronic haematuria (Kerrigan, Citation1926). A mastocytoma was described in the tongue of a calf less than 2 weeks old (Dodd, Citation1964). There are two reports of isolated cases of lymphosarcoma in calves of 3 weeks and 5 months, respectively (Rees, Citation1964; Beadle, Citation1965). A pinealoma occurred in a 5-year-old cow which had exhibited nervous signs (Frauchiger et al., Citation1966). A series of neo plasms was found during a slaughter survey (Webster, Citation1966). These reports are summarized in Table 1.
