Malignant catarrhal fever (MCF) in cattle may exhibit different clinical signs, classified somewhat arbitrarily as the peracute, alimentary tract, “head and eye” and mild forms. The prevalence of the disease is usually low and sporadic but mortality is high (CitationPlowright, 1968).
