Polyglycolic acid sutures in general practice

Abstract

Dexon, polyglycolic acid polymer, which has been used in the human field for several years, has recently been introduced to the veterinary profession. Comparisons are made between this material and other sutures, primarily catgut, in a wide variety of surgical procedures. Advantages gained with this material from general use in one practice are given.
