Pages 109-120 | Published online: 05 Apr 2018

Abstract

The clinical entities which contribute to ocular symptoms in the near position have been divided into categories. These include disorders of accommodation and convergence, ocular muscle paralyses, supranuclear disorders of gaze, and restrictive ocular disease. Patients may exhibit clinical features from one or more of these groups. Differential diagnostic methods are described, and suggestions for management of the ocular symptoms are given.
