Class VII Superior Oblique Palsy: Subclassification and Treatment Suggestions

Abstract

Class VII Superior Oblique Palsy is divided into three classes: A Acquired Double Brown's Syndrome, B Iatrogenic Brown's Syndrome with residual superior oblique palsy, and C Traumatic Brown's with superior oblique palsy. Three typical cases are described and treatment options are described including freeing of the mechanical restrictions and weakening of antagonist and yoke muscles in patients whose symptoms warrant intervention.
