Abstract

This paper is concerned with patients experiencing vertical diplopia and demonstrating a small vertical deviation of 10 prism diopters or less. Our purpose is to present a practical approach for evaluating and eliminating vertical diplopia with prism management. Prior to prescribing permanent prism, the use of vertical press-on prism is especially valuable for those patients who do not easily regain their single binocular vision. In order to decrease the weight, an attempt is made to prescribe the minimal strength permanent prism.
