The Role of Contrast Sensitivity in Visual Acuity Testing

Abstract

Contrast Sensitivity testing has been shown to be a method that can detect defects in the visual system that are not found when using the usual visual acuity tests. How this method of testing has been applied to visual defects in amblyopia, visual pathway disorders and systemic disease is discussed.
