Use of a Plus Lens Occluder for Cover Testing in Latent Nystagmus

Abstract

A plus lens can be used instead of a conventional occluder in reducing extraneous movement during cover test measurements. We have found it most useful in patients with latent nystagmus, DVD, or redress movements, where the technique reduces end point “noise” and allows greater accuracy of measurement.
