Abstract
A procedure for constructing custom eyewear for infants is presented. The method requires only one or two hours of fabrication time, and does not require special equipment. The procedure in general involves the reduction and reconstruction of an ordinary zyl (cellulose acetate) spectacle frame into which lenses of a predetermined optimal diameter are inserted. The intended application of the method is to construct eyewear for the early correction of orthoptic or refreactive disorders for children less than six months of age.
