Abstract
Tests for screening should be reliable and valid. Validity measures include sensitivity and specificity which allow the calculation of the predictive value of a positive or negative result. The predictive value is the chance that a positive test will correlate with a positive diagnosis. Reliability and validity data for vision screening tests are uncommon.
