Abstract
Accommodative esotropia is a well known entity where the patient becomes esotropic while accommodating and needs the hypermetropic glasses to remain phoric. Conventions state that these patients would routinely have a refractive error of approximately +3.00 diopters or more and would need the glasses to achieve binocularity. They may or may not have a high AC/A ratio, and the onset is anywhere from two to four years old.
The case histories of six patients are discussed. All patients exhibit characteristics of accommodative esotropia, except these patients are all myopic.
