Abstract
A review of the management of unilateral congenital cataract patients has shown that good Snellen acuity results were achieved in 56% of the cases. Visual acuity results were best in cases with early referral for treatment and good to excellent compliance with post-operative contact lens wear and occlusion therapy. The close cooperation of the various professionals who contribute to the diagnosis and management of these patients was an important factor in obtaining good visual results.
