Childhood Esotropia: The Players

, M.D. & , C.O., COT

Abstract

Categorizing esotropia according to the answers to the following four questions allows the practitioner to collect the different types of esotropia into sensible groups.

The questions are:

1. When did it begin?

2. Is the child healthy?

3. Is the vision equal?

4. Is the deviation horizontally comitant?

A decision tree is presented for the differential diagnosis.
