Abstract

Horizontal incomitant strabismus can be treated with optical means. We report a man with horizontal incomitant strabismus and binocular diplopia following a retinal detachment repair. He was treated with split horizontal Fresnel prisms. The transition point for the prism power was selected by determining the point where the diplopia was noted to increase. This resulted in an unusual, yet functional pair of glasses. The patient's symptoms were relieved.
