Abstract

Although in recent years the visual results after treatment for monocular and binocular congenital cataracts have improved dramatically, strabismus remains a common finding. Reports of binocularity in this setting are rare.

This paper reviews the literature in which the incidence of strabismus and binocularity were reported, discusses barriers to binocular function, and highlights those strategies that may result in enhanced binocularity for future patients.
