Abstract
I am fortunate to know Dr. Scobee through his many publications and through the twenty-eight memorial lectures presented in his name. Although his life ended prematurely, Dr. Scobe's legacy has lived in those to whom he was a mentor; it continues in those for whom they now serve as role models.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have numerous mentors, each has contributed something very distinct to my professional development and all have enriched my personal experience. Today it is a great pleasure and a distinct honor to deliver the Twenty-ninth Annual Richard G. Scobee Memorial Lecture in gratitude to those teachers, co-workers and friends.
