Abstract
Purpose:
How to give a well-received Grand Rounds talk to pediatricians.
Methods:
The authors' experience in giving Grand Rounds and administrating the Continuing Medical Education (CME) program at a regional children's hospital is included.
Results:
Eye topics are not often requested by pediatricians, but are essential for their continuing education. Evaluations from Grand Rounds audiences include more comments about the delivery of the talk than the content. Office management of eye problems by the pediatrician should be emphasized. Parent education and telephone triage of patients also should be included.
Conclusion:
Pediatricians want to hear practical talks on office management of their patients given in a clear, organized fashion.
