Abstract
The objects of the Association, which was established in 1954, are to multiply and certify seed of improved cultivars of grasses and legumes released by Government Research Stations. Certification is outlined in terms of classes of seed, isolation, weed‐free production fields, preparation of seed for sale, seed testing standards and annual production of seed. The influence of the Association's seed certification programme upon the development of planted pastures in Rhodesia is discussed.

Die Vereniging is in 1954 gestig met die doel om saad van verbeterde grasse en penlplante, wat deur Slaatstwvorsingstasies vrygestel is, te vermeerder en te sertifiseer. Saadsertifisering word beskryf ten apsigle van saadklasse, isolasie, onkruidvrye, produksie persele, voorbereiding vir die handel, toetsstandaarde en jaarlikse saadpraduksie. Die invloed van die Vereniging se gesertifiseerde saad op die, ontwikkeling van aangeplante weldings in Rhodesië word bespreek.
