1. The theoretical concepts underlying my work and the techniques which I follow are based upon the work of Freud and the contributions of Melanie Klein and her followers. The attendance of my adolescent patients has varied from one to five times weekly, the majority attending twice weekly. I do not vary my techniques according to the frequency of attendance although I do modify my level of aspiration for those who attend less frequently. The cases mentioned in this paper attended two or three times weekly.
