Abstract
This research note reports a nematode, preliminarily identified as belonging to the genus Thripinema Siddiqi (Allantonematidae), parasitizing females of the endemic New Zealand flower thrips Thrips obscuratus (Crawford) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) in New Zealand. Nematodes were observed in the abdomen of infested thrips throughout the year and were associated with thrips sterilization.
