Notes

Strictly speaking, she was born with classic CAH-21-hydroxylase deficiency. I know of no other case of an individual with CAH discussed in the psychoanalytic literature. W. D. Fairbairn (1931) has written of a patient with a physical genital abnormality, and Marco Chiesa (Citation1995) discussed a case of Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. Richard C. Friedman and Jennifer Downey (Citation1993, 1995) have written generally of CAH from a psychoanalytic perspective.
