Gerrit I. van Schalkwyk

Gerrit I. van Schalkwyk is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellow at the Yale Child Study Center. Dr van Schalkwyk graduated from Stellenbosch University (cum laude) in 2011 and completed his adult residency at Yale University. His primary research interests include autism spectrum disorders and the application of qualitative methods in psychiatry, with numerous publications in both of these areas.

Fred R. Volkmar

Fred R. Volkmar is a psychiatrist, psychologist, and former Director of the Yale Child Study Center. He is the Irving B. Harris Professor of Child Psychiatry, Pediatrics, and Psychology at the Yale School of Medicine. Dr Volkmar has published extensively around the ?eld of autism spectrum disorder and was lead author on the section on autism for DSM-IV. Dr Volkmar is the Editor of the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
