Daphne blagayana Freyer has been found in the Carnic Pre—Alps (Friuli—Venezia Giulia). The vegetation in which it occurs is characterized by many Illirian species and may be referred to Seslerietalia in the Inglagna Valley and to fringe of Dentario pentaphyllo—Fagetum Mayer 69 in the Forca Grande di Faidona.
