We have reexamined the exsiccata previously attributed to P. chlorantha (SCRUGLI e GRASSO, 1981) found in Sardinia and preserved in herbaria TO, SASSA and CAG. After careful analysis of fresh samples collected by us at various sites, and after having compared them to the specimens of P. algeriensis found in the locus classicus (Algeria, Marais de la Rassauta) and kept in the herbaria B, FI and G, we have concluded that the specimens present on the island unequivocably belong to P. algeriensis Battandier et Trabut.
