The presence of Prunus webbii (Spach) Vierh. (Rosaceae) is recorded for the first time in Sicily, near Siracuse, and as second station in Italy. A synthetic description of climatic and geological characteristics of the station of finding is reported. The actual areal of the species is presented based on the literature data and the new finding. The phytosociological role of the species is defined in relation to the Sicilian phytocoenosis. The phytogeographical interest of the south-western area of Sicily is emphatized as reservoir of species with west-mediterranean distribution.
