First records of two species of Bryum (Bryaceae) from Sicily

Summary

A study about Bryum subapiculatum and B. rubens, new for the Sicilian moss flora, is carried out. In particular, Bryum subapiculatum was found near Gela (S. Sicily), representing the only sure Italian report; Bryum rubens, surveyed at Pantelleria, was signaled in Italy for a few N. and C. regions.

Viene segnalata la presenza in Sicilia di Bryum subapiculatum Hampe e B. rubens Mitt., specie nuove per la brioflora siciliana. Bryum subapiculatum è stato rinvenuto nei dintorni di Gela (Sicilia meridionale) su suolo argilloso-limoso umido; questa segnalazione rappresenta al momento l'unica certa per il territorio italiano. Bryum rubens, raccolto a Pantelleria in stazioni fumaroliche, è stato citato in precedenza solo per poche regioni dell'Italia settentrionale e centrale.
