In order to give an answer to the controversial question of the presence/absence of Malcolmia ramosissima (Desf.) Thell. and M. nana (DC.) Boiss. in Sicily, a survey is done both on herbarium and fresh material belonging to these species. The results, showed in a map of the collection sites, confirm the presence of both these taxa in Sicily. After considering the frequent misidentifications suffered in the past by them as attributable to their morphological affinities, some characters, not referred in the previous literature, useful comprehensively to a better discrimination, are put in evidence.
