Taxonomic notes and distribution of Orobanche L. (Orobanchaceae) in Latium (Central Italy)

Summary

Results of a field, herbarium and bibliographic investigation in Latium on the two sections of the genus Orobanche (Trionychon Wallr. and Osproleon Wallr.) brought to a revised herbarium specimens lists (FI and RO) and showed the importance of a more correct diagnostic characterization of the genus. Some taxonomic characters neglected by most of european floras, such as the odour of flowers, here are pointed out for each taxon. In addition, to make easier the identification of the species of Orobanche species in Latium, here a new dichotomical key is proposed and revised distribution maps are presented for each taxon. Results show the presence in Latium of 19 taxa, besides two species not found again in this century (after 1920).

Vengono resi noti i risultati di ricerche e confronti tra dati di erbario e di campo sulle due Sezioni del genere Orobanche L. (Trionychon Wallr. ed Osproleon Wallr. = Orobanche L.) nel Lazio. Emerge la necessità di una migliore caratterizzazione diagnostica del Genere tramite l'analisi di nuovi caratteri. Viene inoltre evidenziata per ogni entità l'importanza di alcuni caratteri tassonomici precedentemente sottovalutati dalla maggior parte delle Flore, antiche e moderne, come l'odore del fiore. Per rendere inoltre più agevole l'identificazione delle specie diffuse in Italia Centrale, viene proposta una nuova chiave dicotomica ottenuta dal confronto tra materiale fresco ed essiccato; viene infine illustrata la distribuzione di ogni entità nel Lazio sulla base di materiale d'erbario, bibliografici ed osservazioni personali. Nel Lazio risultano attualmente presenti 19 entità, oltre due non ritrovate in questo secolo (dopo il 1920).
