Abstract
The endemic Australian genus Bassethullia, previously considered a subgenus of Notoplax, is elevated to full generic rank and redefined. The Tertiary and Recent species of Bassethullia are reviewed and redescribed, and their distributions and the habitats of the living species are given. A key to the species is presented. Five species are recognised, three living and two extinct species, one of which is new. B. porcino is recognised as distinct from B. matthewsi.
