Occurrence of Cancellaria patricia Thiele off South-East Australia; with notes on three Australian taxa of Cancellariidae (Neogastropoda: Cancellarioidea)

Abstract

The Australian locality of Cancellaria exigua Smith is confirmed, and its holotype redescribed. The species mentioned under that name by Garrard (1975) is identified as C. patricia Thiele; this is the first mention of that species for Australia. Inglisella nympha Garrard is found to be a junior synonym of C. exigua. A damaged shell from New South Wales is identified as the third known specimen of Bonellitia scobina (Hedley & Petterd).
