Abstract
A comparative study is performed to elucidate the understanding of thermally and chemically assisted gas-oil gravity drainage mechanisms in the fractured carbonate Qarn Alam oilfield. The idea was to lay plans to devise an experimental apparatus that will be used to simulate the recovery mechanisms. The set-up will also be utilized to confirm that chemically-assisted thermal recovery mechanisms in fractured reservoirs are consistent with simulation predictions.
