Diagnosis and Management of Stress Fractures of the Foot

Pages 83-89 | Published online: 12 May 2016

Abstract

In brief: Stress fractures of the foot are a common problem among athletes, especially those who participate in sports that involve running and jumping. Physicians usually can diagnose the injury correctly if they know the signs and symptoms and use the proper diagnostic aids. Management of these injuries, while often routine, occasionally may be difficult. The authors discuss common stress fractures of the foot, related radiographic findings, and treatment alternatives.
