Summary
Validity of the ICL's octant constellations and underlying interpersonal dimensions was investigated by inferential design. Four role-played videotapes were produced so that the interpersonal behavior of the main character would illustrate the four poles of the ICL's two bipolar dimensions. Ss were asked to view one of four tapes and describe the main character by using an ICL form IV. Resulting profiles from Ss seeing the same tape were pooled to form four groups, then statistically compared. Results support the original formulations of LaForge and Suczek.
