I thank Dr. Taylor Segraves, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, for asking me to write a commentary on Dr. David Rowland's (2007) excellent and timely article entitled: “Will Medical Solutions to Sexual Problems Make Sexological Care and Science Obsolete?” I thoroughly enjoyed reading this provocative manuscript. The article provides an exceptional overview of the evolving roles of the healthcare professionals in the various disciplines who provide management to men and women seeking help for sexual health problems.
