Abstract

With this issue, we introduce a slightly different format for reviews of some commercial films. Mommie Dearest is reviewed by Drs. Stevan Cressitt, a practicing psychiatrist in Lynn, Mass., John Garrison, a Psychologist at Harvard Medical School, and Jenny Phillips, a practicing nurse practitioner in Salem, Mass. Each reviewer brings his or her o v n particular perspective to the evaluation of the film, which are all then summarized by Dr. Gressittkfinal comment. This format permits the reader to see how the same film is viewed through different professionals' eyes. Or. Gressitt's original review first appeared in Behavioral Medicine, Nov.-Dee. 1981, and is reprinted here withper-mission.
