The Divergence of the Special Linear Group over a Function Ring

Pages 3636-3654 | Received 14 Oct 2013, Published online: 26 Jun 2015

Abstract

We compute the divergence of the finitely generated group SL n (๐’ช๐’ฎ), where ๐’ฎ is a finite set of valuations of a function field and ๐’ช๐’ฎ is the corresponding ring of ๐’ฎ-integer points. As an application, we deduce that all its asymptotic cones are without cut-points.
