Abstract
In this paper we study special Jordan coalgebras, those Jordan coalgebras obtained as quotients of symmetrized associative coalgebras. We relate this concept to the notion of speciality of Jordan algebras and prove a dual version of the Shirshov-Cohn Theorem on the speciality of two-cogenerated Jordan coalgebras.
