Abstract
The synthesis and structural characterization of a trinuclear Schiff base complex with a Cu2Dy (Dy = dysprosium) core is reported for the first time. The crystal data for [C42H40N6O12Cl3,Cu2Dy]·6H2O (2) are as follows: orthorhombic, space group Pbcn (#60), Z = 4, a = 12.476(5) Å, b = 26.522(5) Å, c = 15.028(5) Å, V = 4973(1) Å3, F(000) = 2608, Dc = 1.748 gcm−3, μ(Mo-Kα) = 3.37 mm−1, T = 296 K and 2130 reflections were observed with [I>2[sgrave](I)]. The refinement converged with R = 0.089, Rw = 0.086 and S = 1.40. The coordinate polyhedron of the central metal Dy(III) and Cu(II) atoms is an eight-coordinated trigonal-dodecahedrone and a five-coordinated square-pyramid, respectively.
