Abstract
Reactions of lead(II) acetate with Schiffbases of sulfa drugs have been investigated and on the basis of elemental analyses, IR, UV, NMR spectral studies, possible structures have been suggested for the resulting new compounds. The Schiff bases used in these studies are the condensation products of sulfathiazole, sulfadiazine, sulfisoxazole and sulfaguanidine with 2-hydroxy-l-naphthaldehyde or benzoylacetone.
