Abstract

Complexation with homogeneously generated copper (I) chloride as well as displacement of 1,5-cyclooctadiene from its copper (I) chloride complex are investigated as syntheses for vinylmetallic-copper (I) chloride complexes. Both of these methods have led to the successful preparation of the new compounds, (C₆H₅)₂Si(CH[dbnd]CH₂)₂·2CuCl and (C₆H₅)Si(CH[dbnd]CH₂)₃·2CuCl.
