Vinylmetallics as Ligands. IV. Alternate Synthetic Routes to Vinylmetallic-Copper(I) Chloride Complexes

Abstract

Complexation with homogeneously generated copper (I) chloride as well as displacement of 1,5-cyclooctadiene from its copper (I) chloride complex are investigated as syntheses for vinylmetallic-copper (I) chloride complexes. Both of these methods have led to the successful preparation of the new compounds, (C6H5)2Si(CH[dbnd]CH2)2·2CuCl and (C6H5)Si(CH[dbnd]CH2)3·2CuCl.
